Tickets, accidents, and credit problems are no problem for financial services and insurance firm Direct General Corporation. Founded in 1993, Direct General offers non-standard personal automobile coverage and motorcycle insurance in the Southeast US through its insurance companies and agencies. It also offers roadside assistance, emergency protection, and premium and consumer finance products, as well as tax preparation services and a bit of term life insurance. Private investment partnerships Calera Capital and TPG Capital own Direct General Corporation; they are selling the firm to New York-based insurer National General Holdings for $165 million.
