Deltic Timber Corporation
Money doesn't grow on trees? Deltic Timber might beg to differ. The company annually grows and harvests some 605,000 tons of timber from the more than 450,000 acres of timberland that it owns, primarily in Arkansas and northern Louisiana. The company's two sawmills convert the timber (mainly Southern Pine) into softwood lumber products; this is then sold to wholesale distributors, lumber treaters, and truss manufacturers for use in residential construction to make roof trusses, laminated beams, and decking. In addition to its timber and lumber businesses, Deltic Timber develops real estate in central Arkansas and manufactures medium density fiberboard (MDF) through Del-Tin Fiber.
