Cumberland Pharmaceuticals wants to make your search for the right drugs less cumbersome. The specialty pharmaceutical company focuses on acquiring, developing, and commercializing branded prescription drugs. Targeting the hospital acute care and gastroenterology segments, Cumberland's FDA-approved drugs include Acetadote for the treatment of acetaminophen poisoning; Kristalose, a prescription strength laxative; and Caldolor (neé Amelior), the first injectable dosage form of ibuprofen. The company also has several projects in early-stage development. Acetadote and Kristalose are marketed through Cumberland's own hospital and gastroenterology sales forces. The company went public in a mid-2009 IPO.
