Through sheer concentration and might, Compañía de Minas Buenaventura extracts metals in the form of silver-lead, silver-gold, zinc, and lead-gold-copper concentrates. Gold accounts for about 50% of the company's sales. Buenaventura owns almost 45% in Latin America's largest gold property, the Yanacocha mine in Peru, which has 28 million ounces in proved and probable reserves.
