The flagship subsidiary of City National Corporation (CNC) has been known as "Bank to the Stars" since opening in Beverly Hills in 1954. The bank has since grown to roughly 75 branches in Southern California, the San Francisco Bay area, and Nevada, as well as New York City, Nashville, and Atlanta. It focuses on personal and business banking, investment management, and trust services. The bank provides customized service, tailoring its offerings to meet the needs of its high-powered clientele. CNC was acquired by Royal Bank of Canada in late 2015 for $5 billion.
