Cincinnati Bell isn't hanging up on copper yet, but it is moving to provide telecommunication services through fiber optic cable as well as IT services. The company, which has provide telephone service to the Cincinnati area since 1870, has invested in fiber optics to bring high-speed internet and entertainment services to residential customers through its Fioptics service. It also provides communications and IT services and hardware to businesses. In the meantime, it divested its wireless licenses and de-emphasized its legacy landline business. It also provides IT and telecommunications services including telephony, network and infrastructure services, equipment sales, and staffing services.
