Cadiz, Inc.
Cadiz hopes to strike gold with water. The company owns some 45,000 acres of land and groundwater resources in eastern San Bernardino County near the Colorado River Aqueduct and in the eastern Mojave Desert. Cadiz is betting on its groundwater storage and distribution project as water supplies become increasingly scarce in Southern California and as the state aims to increase its renewable energy production levels. Cadiz is also looking into commercial and residential development of its land. It has some agricultural assets that are leased as lemon groves and grape vineyards.
