Cable & Wireless Worldwide (CWW) still provides telecom services some 80 years after its founding. Active in more than 150 countries, the company offers voice, Internet, data, and network hosting services, mainly to corporations (including Ryanair and National Grid), resellers, and other carriers. Cable and Wireless plc broke up into two companies in 2010. The core international business changed its name to Cable & Wireless Worldwide (CWW), while its Cable and Wireless International division (fixed-line and mobile services for consumers and small businesses in former British colonies) was demerged as Cable & Wireless Communications. In 2012 CWW was bought by Vodafone in a $£1.04 billion ($1.6 billion) deal.
