CEVA has a fever for semiconductor design. CEVA specializes in technology -- both integrated circuit and software designs -- used in cell phones, handheld computers, MP3 players, and other wireless devices. It licenses its semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) designs to such industry heavyweights as Broadcom and Sony. The company derives more than 90% of its sales from technology licensing and royalties, with the remainder coming from design and consulting services, along with maintenance, training, and technical support fees from licensees. CEVA's SIP is shipped in more than 600 million devices a year.
