Bovie makes electrosurgical generators and disposable electrosurgical products (including desiccators, electrodes, electrosurgical pencils, and other devices) for cutting and cauterizing tissue. These are mainly used for outpatient surgical procedures in doctors' offices, surgery centers, and hospitals. Bovie also makes battery-operated cauteries (to stop bleeding), physician penlights and other medical lighting instruments, and nerve locator simulators (used in hand and facial reconstruction) to identify motor nerves. Bovie markets and distributes worldwide under its own Aaron, ICON, and IDS brands and under private labels.
