If you have ever read a magazine or a catalog, then chances are you've held Blandin Paper. Blandin produces lightweight, coated publication-grade paper for use in magazines, brochures, and direct-mail advertising. Finland-based forestry company UPM-Kymmene bought Blandin in 1997 from the Canadian subsidiary of New Zealand-based Fletcher Challenge Group in order to establish a presence in North America. Blandin's magazine papers production contributes to UPM-Kymmene's largest product segment. The paper business group as a whole accounts for more than 69% of the parent company's sales.
