Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation
Atlantic Coast Financial Corporation (formerly Atlantic Coast Federal Corporation) is the holding company for Atlantic Coast Bank, which operates about a dozen branches in southeastern Georgia and the Jacksonville, Florida area. The bank offers standard deposit, lending, and investment services. Residential mortgages make up around half of its loan portfolio. Atlantic Coast Bank was established in 1939 as a credit union that served Atlantic Coast Line Railroad employees. Formerly mutually owned, Atlantic Coast Federal Corporation converted to a stock form of ownership in 2011, changed its name, and moved its headquarters to Jacksonville, where the company is focusing its growth strategy.
