The company invests in federally tax-exempt mortgage revenue bonds, which are issued by state and local governments to help fund construction of, and provide financing for, multifamily housing complexes; ultimately, the bonds are designed to provide affordable mortgages to low- to middle-income homebuyers. Currently, America First Tax Exempt Investors' portfolio consists of more than 15 tax-exempt bonds that fund about 20 multifamily properties. The firm is managed by America First Real Estate Group and is part of Burlington Capital Group.
