Astec, through American Augers, builds auger-boring, trenching, directional-drilling, and heat-transfer equipment used for underground construction, demolition, mining, recycling, and oil and gas production. The company makes replacement parts, too. Customers are asphalt road contractors as well as utility and pipeline service providers, government agencies, and mine and quarry operators. Domestic sales represent about 60% of net sales.
