Narcotics are the name of the game for Aoxing Pharmaceutical, which makes Naloxone and oxycodone products. Opioids are relatively new to China and the company has one of the only government-sanctioned manufacturing facilities; it is also the largest. Like many pharma companies, Aoxing operates through many joint ventures and partnerships including a JV with pharmaceutical ingredient maker Johnson Matthey Plc and strategic alliances with American Oriental Bioengineering, QRxPharma, and Phoenix PharmaLabs. In addition to narcotics, the company offers OTC pain relievers, some based on traditional Chinese medicine. Aoxing, which traces its roots to 1600, became a public company in 2006 through a reverse merger.
