It shares a name with a Coloradan mountain but digs under the Appalachian crust. Antero Resources explores for and produces oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGLs) across more than 560,000 acres in the Appalachian Basin in West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. It reports proved reserves of almost 9.5 trillion cu. ft. of natural gas. In 2015 the company produced an average of 545 million cu. ft. of natural gas per day, including almost 613 barrels per day of oil and NGLs using horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing techniques.
