Alacer Gold Corp. (formerly Anatolia Minerals Development) is exploring and developing mining properties in Turkey and Australia, with projects for gold, copper, and other minerals. An intermediate gold producer and explorer, Alacer holds gold reserves of about 5.9 million ounces. The company focused its exploratory drilling efforts on its 95%-owned Çöpler gold project, believed to contain 4 million ounces of gold. In 2010 Anatolia bought out its joint venture partner Rio Tinto's share of the Cevizlidere Copper-Gold Project for $1.9 million. The company merged the next year with Australia's Avoca Resources to create a $2 billion gold operation that was renamed Alacer Gold.
