It has interests in some 55 upscale apartment complexes comprising more than 18,500 units. The Illinois-based company, founded in 1980, also has 4,000 additional apartment houses under development in 14 locations. The firm concentrates its investments in about a dozen markets, including Southern California, Southeast Florida, and the metropolitan areas of Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, and Seattle, as well as the Texas cities of Austin, Houston, and Dallas/Fort Worth. AMLI is owned by Morgan Stanley's Prime Property Fund.
