American Steel and Aluminum primarily processes and distributes carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel products to customers through five operating plants in the mid-Atlantic and northeastern US. Its products include hot and cold-rolled carbon steel and alloy and coated bar, coil, sheet, plate, and tubular forms. American Steel was founded in 1962 and acquired by Novamerican Steel in 1996. Formerly a subsidiary of bankrupt Barzel, it is now owned by Nova Steel Group.
