American HomePatient is making sure no one is home alone when it comes to respiratory care. Founded in 1983, it provides home health services from some 250 locations in the US. The firm provides respiratory therapy and equipment, including oxygen therapy, sleep apnea systems, and nebulizers. It also offers home infusion therapy services, including feeding and intravenous drug administration. American HomePatient also rents and sells durable hospital equipment, including beds and wheelchairs. It usually operates independently but also provides home care in a few areas through joint ventures with hospitals. Oxygen therapy specialist Lincare bought American HomePatient from Highland Capital Management in early 2016.
