Owning an assortment of marketing services businesses, the company (formerly Groupe Aeroplan) offers rewards and loyalty programs to global customers in the financial services, retail, and travel sectors. Its Aeroplan loyalty program partners with 75 other companies (mostly airlines) representing 150 brands and allows consumers to rack up air miles in a variety of ways and choose from rewards that included airline seats, hotels, car rentals, merchandise, and experiential rewards. Aimia greatly expanded its global operations when it bought UK-based LMG in 2007 and US-based Carlson Marketing in 2009. The company has offices in 20 countries.
