Adventist Health System/Sunbelt, one of the country's largest faith-based hospital systems, runs about 45 hospitals, 20 nursing homes, and 25 home health care agencies in about a dozen states (mostly in the Southeast). The not-for-profit system's acute care hospitals have some 8,100 beds combined; its long-term care facilities offer 1,900 beds. Its Florida Hospital division includes about two dozen hospitals, as well as home health agencies and nursing homes. Adventist Health is sponsored by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church as part of that denomination's legacy of providing health care.
