Advanced Disposal Services is moving forward with its plans to become a major waste disposal player. It offers non-hazardous solid waste collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services in 16 US states across the Midwest, South, and East. The company serves 2.8 million residential and 221,000 commercial and industrial customers via 92 collection operations, 72 transfer stations, 21 owned or operated recycling facilities, and 39 owned or operated landfills. Advanced Disposal Services targets secondary, or less densely populated non-urban, markets where the presence of rival, larger national providers is more limited. The company went public in October 2016 through an IPO that raised $346.5 million.
