Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is the largest banking group in Japan (ahead of Mizuho Financial and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial) and one of the largest in the world. The group provides retail banking, corporate banking, asset management, securities brokerage, leasing, and trust services. Subsidiary The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) boasts over 1,100 branches across Japan and another 1,150 across more than 40 countries. Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking (MUTB) oversees some ¥30 trillion ($250 billion) in assets under management. Other holdings include investment bank Mitsubishi UFJ Securities, California-based MUFG Union Bank, and private bank Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley PB Securities (MUMSS).
